Walk the Walk Books

My name is Carmen Bird.  I am the author/publisher of two walking tour books, one for Boise, Idaho, and the other for San Francisco:

WALK THE WALK IN BOISE, and

WALK THE WALK IN SAN FRANCISCO

Walking bridge in Boise

The Boise book is published and for sale in the Gift Shop of the Idaho State Capitol Building and on Amazon books. The San Francisco book is complete, but needs a little tweeking, and then off to the printer.  Hopefully, it will be ready for release soon!

Both books are walking tours, with maps, easy to follow directions, and colorful pictures of the sites you will see.  Locations of public restrooms are indicated along the routes.  Learn some history and other interesting tidbits about the iconic landmarks of Boise and San Francisco through the narrative.

You will see as many historic sites as I could pack into the tours, as well as the spectacular scenery, trails, and parks each of these great cities has to offer.  Pubs and eateries are available along the routes.   I haven’t attempted to name or rate them inasmuch as that would be a whole ‘nother book, plus, they’re always changing!

The Boise walk is 20.5 miles, and the San Francisco walk is about 50 miles.  The walks are considered easy for the most part, though San Francisco does have a few more steep hills to climb.  The walks are continuous loops which can be broken into manageable pieces.   Boise’s loop starts at the Capitol Building and ends at the Capitol Building.  San Francisco’s loop starts at the Ferry Building and ends at the Ferry Building.
